Friday 25th July - walks *** – Felixstowe prom including picnic on the beach – sunny and hot.

After yesterdays rain the sun returned to Felixstowe today and as it’s Friday, Maeva day we got the bread out for the usual picnic with no venue in set yet. Maybe Nacton Shores or Levington Marina? Had time to do my exercises before Mag went to pick Maeva up who said there was a free foam/bubble disco at Beach Street and had arranged to meet her Mum there at two. This meant we had a bit of fun at home before I packed the picnic before setting off to the prom, it was horrible really being very crowded and they were setting up for the Carnival which takes place over the weekend, so the prom is best avoided over the weekend! We bumped into an old friend by the pier and stopped for a chat before carrying on along the prom with the aim of walking to the end near The Manor where hopefully it would be quietier but we bumped into more friends out on their bikes and stopped again for a catch-up chat. We were then short of time so found a nice spot near the Martello Tower to enjoy our picnic lunch. We then got a message from Maeva’s mum to say she had arrived at the disco. We meet her at The Hut where the kids foam/bubble disco was in full swing with everyone having a ball. The music was good but very load so I picked her up and took her through the mass of foam on the floor to watch the bubbles, she was a little nervous to start but then loved it especially when the foam started pumping out agaim, loads of laughs and we got pretty wet! Her Dad then arrived to join in the fun, we then left them too it to walk back to the prom and treated ourselves to a yummy icecream with a flake! Home for a cuppa, knackered, then Jay came with Maeva for an hour or so doing loads of puzzles before her Dad came to pick her up!
